#1 AND BROKE
Cutbacks and consolidation are taking its toll on our beloved industry. As we enter into our jobs everyday, we're still faced with old problems. There used to be a time when you could supplement your income with remotes and bonuses, but nowadays, both options are very hard to come by. There isn't much information shared on managing one's money, let alone how to make the most of our positions as talent. The big companies that employ most of us take great joy out of keeping more money on the bottom line by keeping your salaries and subsequently, your bonus structures small.
The way companies justify their piddling compensation packages by placing fear and guilt in our hearts. "We could get someone in here today who will do it for less than what we're paying you." Or the ever popular "Look at all the perks you get! You should be happy making this money! It's not like you're working THAT hard." According to their logic when your ratings are good, it's all because of the programming of the music, when they are bad, it's because of the talent. Why is that?
This Thursday, I'm going to help you make the most out of your experience as an air talent, by teaching you how to build wealth while in this industry. Being #1 no longer means job security, so we have to make sure that we're financially stable. Look for my wealth building kit, coming soon. In the meantime, you must continue to grind and make the most of our experiences!
